Vine: Sangiovese
Vinification: involves the vinification of the mass together with a modest quantity (10-15% of the total) of whole bunches, de-stemmed; after light maceration with reassembling the level of softness and maturation of the desired tannic component is reached. After fermentation, the wine is placed in medium-toasted French oak tonneaux where it rests for at least 10-12 months. Finally, the wine is refined for another 6-8 months in bottle before being put on the market.
Tasting notes: the wine is robust, of great personality, right balance between the alcoholic and acid component and intense olfactory component managed by notes referable to small fruits, flowery undergrowth, summer fruit, quince, spiced (cinnamon, cinnamon, black pepper , cloves) in the aftertaste; elegant and refined goudron in the finish, slightly spicy.
