Cleto Chiarli: A Legacy of Excellence
"Now in their fifth generation, the Chiarli family stands as a historic pillar of Modena—the city of Sandrone, the iconic local mask. Their estates, located in Sozzigalli (north of Modena), Cialdini (Castelvetro), and Belvedere (Spilamberto), beautifully showcase how different terroirs reflect distinct nuances in their wines.
The founder, Cleto Chiarli, originally an innkeeper in Modena’s historic center, returned to the countryside to revolutionize and ennoble Lambrusco. He was a pioneer in recognizing the importance of bottle-production, and in 1900, his vision was rewarded on French soil with the prestigious 'Mention Honorable'.
Quinto Passo: This 'fifth generation' of the family is celebrated through the vinification of the finest grapes from the Cleto Chiarli estates into exceptional Metodi Classici. In particular, the Modena Rosé Spumante D.O.C. captures the pure emotion and elegance that only a Lambrusco di Sorbara can offer."
